Donald Paints!
PC Internal Speaker as Sound Output Device
Testing MIDI Files
Compatibility Issues
Latest Versions of Selected Video Drivers
DONALD PAINTS!
You may choose the color of the paint in Donald's paint bucket and the color
that Donald paints solids and patterns, but Donald will always paint the real
Mickey Mouse!
PC INTERNAL SPEAKER AS SOUND OUTPUT DEVICE
If you are using the PC Internal Speaker as your sound output device, and you
do not see a speaker icon in the After Dark Control Panel controls of your
selected module, then music and sound effects will not be available for that
module.
You must be running Windows 3.1 or later and have a sound card capable of
playing MIDI files installed in your PC to hear music and most sound effects.
TESTING MIDI FILES
If for some reason Canyon.mid is not in your Windows directory, use the
Nutcrckr.mid MIDI file in the \AFTERDRK\MUSIC directory to test your MIDI
configuration.
COMPATIBILITY ISSUES
PAS16: For best results using your Pro Audio Spectrum 16 sound card with
The Disney Collection Screen Saver use a Basic MIDI setting in your
Windows MIDI Mapper.
DASHBOARD 1.01: Dashboard 1.01 MUST be disabled as your Windows shell before
installing The Disney Collection Screen Saver. If you are using Dashboard 1.01,
edit the system.ini file in your Windows directory as follows: 1) comment out
the line "shell=dash.exe"; 2) add a new line "shell=progman.exe" to specify
Program Manager as the shell and 3) restart Windows. After installing The Disney
Collection Screen Saver edit the system.ini file, remove the line
"shell=progman.exe", restore the line "shell=dash.exe" and restart Windows.
DASHBOARD 2.0: Do not use an external .BMP file in your virtual screen area,
as this will cause you to run out of memory. Using a predefined bitmap will
avoid this problem. This problem is fixed in Dashboard 2.01.
Contact Hewlett Packard Technical Support for more information.
STACKER 3.00: Stacker's buffering feature MUST be disabled before installing
The Disney Collection Screen Saver. Specify the /nb option in your Stacker
configuration. Contact Stac Technologies for more information.
INSTALLING OTHER AFTER DARK SCREEN SAVERS: If you purchase After Dark,
More After Dark, or Star Trek: The Screen Saver, please quit The Disney
Collection Screen Saver before installing of those products.
